For our final project in New Media Design we designed a desktop website UI, mobile website UI, and iOS app UI for a brand created in a previous project using Figma. As someone who loves UI and UX design, I really enjoyed project. I've previously done it has a hobby but I've never used Figma to create designs, so it was cool to learn a new design software. Figma is very similar to Adobe XD but focuses heavier on collaboration work, which allowed me to design these interfaces alongside my four other group members. The interfaces were made for the brand Spectacle Vintage, a vintage clothing clothing store created by our teammate Tara Anastassoff. The website designs are designed to be shopping sites, and the app SpecStyles is designed to scan clothing and search for clothing and accessories to pair with it.

I think this project really helped to further develop my existing design skills. While I didn't really learning anything new about UI design during the process, this project did teach me the importance of focusing on UX too. Every time we'd make a design change to the site or app we'd adjust the prototypes and put Figma into presentation mode to test it. Being able to set up prototypes and interact with the interfaces the same way a user would was incredibly helpful and helped us decide a lot of the small details, like the spacing of icons and their tap targets or font sizes.
